MONQ Review Safety

Thanks for stopping by my review of the MONQ Portable Aromatherapy Diffuser.

MONQ,  (pronounced ‘monk’),  is a line of 7 blends of portable essential oil diffusers.

Each blend is said to have its own unique aroma inspired mood benefits.    The Zen  blend,  which I chose to review because of my life long issues with anxiety,   is said to promote feelings of calm and relaxation,  so of course I was instantly intrigued and wanted to give it a try.  (Thank you to MONQ for being kind enough to give me a sample to try at no charge.)

I wasn’t sure what I should expect with this product because I had no experience with aromatherapy.    I am a bit of a cynical person so I wondered if I would really gain any benefit from it.    And if I am going to be 100% honest,  I also had some reservations about trying it because I have become a pretty health conscious person over the years,  and I don’t like the idea of inhaling something without knowing exactly what it is.    I knew I needed to educate myself a little bit. I decided to start by doing some research into essential oils. My Review Of Zen MONQ Aromatherapy

ABOUT ESSENTIAL OILS

MONQ Review Quit SmokingI think I may be the last person on Earth with no knowledge of essential oils.  I have read about them a bit online over the years,  but nothing too in-depth,  so I was basically starting at the very beginning.

After doing a little searching,  I found a couple of really informative pages at the National Cancer Institute’s website.    There I learned that essential oils are concentrated extracts taken from plants.   Each essential oil has its own blend of ingredients from certain plants,   depending on what use it is intended for – different plant extracts have different benefits.

From what I have gathered,

a very simple explanation is that essential oils work by hitting the olfactory glands in the nose,  which causes a reaction in the limbic system in our brain.  The limbic system is the emotional center of our brain.  Depression, anxiety,  and fear all stem from this part of the brain.

At this time,  the only way we have to directly stimulate the limbic system is through our sense of smell,  making essential oils a great tool for the job.

According to the 4th Edition of the Essential Oil Desk Reference:   Because the limbic system is directly connected to those parts of the brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress levels, and hormone balance, essential oils can have profound physiological and psychological effects…

It seems that essential oils have been used for their healing properties in Eastern countries for thousands of years.   It is within this last century that they have been  “rediscovered”  here in the west and used as an alternative and complement to standard traditional medical treatments.

The NCI website also states that aromatherapy is widely used by cancer patients to improve quality of life and reduce their symptoms of stress and anxiety.    Essential oils can be used via a personal diffuser,  which is the category that the MONQ would fall in,  and they can also be breathed in indirectly  by using a room diffuser or by simply placing some drops near you in the room, or on specially designed jewelry.    The website also states that thus far,  safety tests have shown very few negative side effects or risks of essential oils so I was pretty reassured by all of this information. MONQ Aromatherapy

IS MONQ SAFE?

I then went to MONQ’s website for more information about the product and its Does MONQ work?ingredients.

I learned that the MONQ Therapeutic Air company was actually founded by Dr. Eric Fishman,  who is a believer in a concept known as Forest Bathing, which revolves around the idea that the natural air produced by plants and wooded areas has health benefits that you just can’t find in urban areas.   This is why he designed MONQ to be organic,  natural and without any added chemicals or nicotine.

As I mentioned before,  there are 7 different essential oil blends,  for 7 specific uses,  and the Zen  blend contains a blend of frankincense, orange, and ylang-ylang which are all know for their relaxation inducing properties.  For a full list of all the ingredients in each MONQ blend,   click the link at the bottom of this page.

The website states:   For all 7 MONQ blends,  USA-grown organic plants,  when available,  are extracted and then infused into 100% pure, food-grade vegetable glycerin,  which the FDA recognizes as safe.   Lab tests have found MONQ NOT to include formaldehyde, nickel, tin, lead or aluminum. They also have a safety information page on their site that answered some questions that I had.

MONQ contains no THC or vitamin E acetate,  and the oils are not meant to be inhaled into your lungs – only sucked into your mouth, and then directly out your nose.  MONQ’s slogan suggests that you “breathe” it in.  But that is technically not true.  You are supposed to suck the vapor in as if drinking through a straw, and then blow it out your nose.

Taking all of this information into consideration,   I felt good about trying MONQ and I was excited to get started. If you decide to try MONQ,   I encourage you to do your own research to decide if it is right for you.

This article from Dr. Paul Christo discusses some of the issues surrounding the safety of personal essential oil sticks, which are designed to enhance your moods,  and vitamin sticks which are designed as vitamin supplement devices.  MONQ

THE PRODUCT

After about a week my Zen arrived.

Upon opening the envelope,  I was MONQ Reviewimmediately impressed with the packaging,  although I confess that I first thought that the white packaging canister was the actual diffuser.    I held it in my hand and I thought, “This is really sleek and modern,  but how on Earth do you use it?”

It took me a full two minutes to realize that the cool packaging was not the actual device. While I like to think I am very intelligent,  common sense is something that seems to come to me somewhat sporadically,  so the average person probably wouldn’t make this same mistake, especially if,  unlike me,  they actually read through MONQ’s directions for use.

After my “epiphany”,  I flipped off the end of the canister and took the device out.  My first thought was “Ooooooooooh, this is cool.”   Like the packaging,  the Zen diffuser is very sleek and the texture is nice.    It almost has a bit of a rubbery feel to it that makes it easy to hold and not too slippery.     It has a bit of weight to it – doesn’t feel “cheap” at all,  and it feels good to hold in your hand.     (For more specific details on the MONQ device,  click on #2 in the link sector at the end of this review.)

Each of MONQ’s blends has its own color and the Zen blend is a nice calming color of lavender.    At the end of the diffuser  is what looks like a little diamond that I could tell would light up when I inhaled from it.     It smelled lovely and I was instantly reminded of being in a quaint little “tea shoppe” somewhere. So far,  I was pretty impressed. I was so impressed actually,  that I was fully expecting to be let down upon actually trying it out.    That is the way things usually go with me,  so I thought the odds were pretty slim that the product itself would deserve the praise of its wonderful packaging. But it was a wonderfully aromatic sigh of relief that I exhaled after trying Zen.   I liked it immediately.   The combination of the taste and “feel”  was nice.    I had wondered if it would make me cough as I drew in or if it would feel harsh in any way;  neither of those things was true.   When the vapor is in your mouth, the only thing you notice is the taste of it, and as it passes through your nose there is no burning or harshness whatsoever.  It was very smooth and pleasant. MONQ Review Zen

HOW TO USE MONQ

I was also struck by how easy it was to use the device.  You simply pick it up and put it to your lips, then gently pull the vapor into your mouth.  After a few moments,  you exhale it through your nose.  There is no need to inhale it into your lungs.

What makes MONQ even easier,  is that it arrives ready to use.  There is no mixing of oils,   no charging the device,  no batteries that you have to put in the device,  no buttons to turn on….   I kept thinking  “I am missing something here…..there has to be more to it than this.”   But it really is that easy.MONQ review

THE FEELING

I quite liked the flavor and smell.

It felt really smooth and warm and nice.   The orange flavor definitely popped but not in an overly citrusy way.  Again,  I thought of tea.

You know how when you have a cup of herbal tea,  and you hold it up close to your face and you breathe it in……that is what it reminded me of.    I didn’t feel “instantly relaxed” by it,  but it made me feel pleasant and peaceful…..almost a little “happy”,   which is not a feeling that comes easily to me.     I have spent some time in the last few days trying to think of the best way to describe the overall feeling it gave me,  and the best way I can explain it is that I felt a sense of  “well-being”.    Nothing euphoric or extremely obvious but still,  quite nice.     It gave me a somewhat nostalgic feeling,   almost like I was re-visiting an old memory and I liked it very much. I liked the actual “act” of using it as well.  I liked the feel of using the device and seeing the pretty little end light up.   I can see how somebody would find it to be a nice little mental distraction or “escape” when they are feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. MONQ Review

MONQ and ANXIETY

To me, as somebody who has had an anxiety disorder for a number Zen MONQ reviewof years,  MONQ is the perfect natural anxiety tool.

I think it is the combination of the fact that it distracts you from your anxious thought patterns when you are actively using it and enjoying the aroma,  it makes you slow down and control your breathing with that little pause followed by the soothing exhale,  and what you are breathing are essential oils,  which inspire calm and relaxation in and of themselves.

I love the fact that Zen MONQ is portable.   That is one of my favorite things about it.   I think it would make a great backup to have with me for those times when I am out and about and start feeling overwhelmed. MONQ does not take away all of my anxiety symptoms – but it definitely helps.   It makes me feel calmer and think more clearly and take that edge off, and I will definitely purchase it again for that reason.

Post Publish Edit:   MONQ has released the results of a study in which they tested the calming effects of their diffusers.   Click here to see results.   Forest Bathing MONQ

SMOKING CESSATION

Speaking of times in my life that I wish MONQ had been around for,   I can see MONQ being a fantastic quit smoking aid.

MONQ is not an e-cigarette and contains no tobacco or nicotine,  but being a former smoker who tried everything under the sun to quit before I finally succeeded,   I can see how this would be an awesome thing to have used to help me quit. MONQ quit smokingCold turkey is rough.   The gum and the patches don’t work for everybody.   And e-cigs taste terrible to a lot of people.   This product gives you the hand to mouth movement,  has the shape and overall “feel” of a cigarette,  has a wonderful smell and flavor,  and promotes a sense of well-being.

In addition,  Zen MONQ goes amazingly well with coffee,  in my opinion.    I know a lot of people who smoke cigarettes have a hard time quitting because of that first cigarette of the day with their coffee…..they miss it too much.   Zen and coffee compliment each other so nicely that I think it would be worth it for a smoker to try it and see if it might be a healthier morning alternative for them. So I think these would be worthy of a spot in anybody’s quit smoking tool box. MONQ Zen Review Safe

OTHER OPINIONS

After I used this product a few times,   I decided I wanted a few more opinions on Zen,  so I asked my sister,   who is a pretty anxious person like me,   and her husband to try this product too. Not sure how sanitary that was,  but its all in the name of research,  right?

They both enjoyed Zen as well.    My sister commented right away on its attractiveMONQ Review design,  as I knew she would,   and said  “I love the purple light at the end.”,   “It does give a sense of relaxing.”,  and   “I think its great to relax  ‘with’  instead of trying to have it relax me. ”     My brother-in-law,  who is trying to quit smoking,  said,  “It relaxes me and its very smooth.  No coughing or feeling like I got too much.  I’m down to 2 cigarettes a day and it helps me a lot.”

I actually just received a text from my sister after telling her I was writing this post today,  and it says  “The smell put me in a nice,  relaxed zone and I found myself not having racing thoughts…….able to concentrate.”    Between the three of us,  we had no negative side effects or negative things to say about Zen MONQ.    All in all,  using it was a good experience for all of us and we all agree that we would use it again.   MONQ Review

THE PRICE

Zen MONQ,  as well as the other blends of MONQ diffusers,  cost 20.00 for one device when purchased through their website,   which should give you around 200 puffs and last approximately two to three weeks depending on how frequently you use it.

MONQ does provide a money back guarantee with purchase. I admit that I thought this was a little pricey at first but after receiving the MONQ,   seeing the quality with which it is made,  and then trying the product,  I would say that its worth it. MONQ does offer a special price if you purchase one of their pre-discounted multi packs.  There is a Custom 4 Pack, a 7 “All Blends” Pack, and a Custom 10 Pack to choose from so stocking up would be an option to consider for those who are looking to save a little.

SHIPPING

MONQ offers free world-wide shipping with purchase of $25 or more.   MONQ Review

IN CONCLUSION

The Zen MONQ  personal diffuser is going to get a “thumbs up” from me.

It’s a cool,  handy little device that didn’t necessarily work any miracles – but it did for me what it claims to do – which is  promote a sense of well-being and calm.

His AnnaLisa! I suffer from severe anxiety and ocd as well. Also, I have a very small, personal botique type business. So not only am I interested In personal use of the MONQ for my health, but have inquired about sales to my clients. However, I obviously would love to try and video review the product first. As it is a bit costly to this stay at home wife and mother of two ( and my botique is small, not booming), I was wondering if you could help me with any into you have as how to possibly receive a sample or free one to try, review, and do what I can to benefit my disorder as well as hopefully benefit others. Thank you for your time.

    Hello Lisa,

I’m so glad I happened upon your site and found out about this company. I was looking for reviews on Focus at Will and found your blog that way. I read your review about Focus at Will and then the one about MONQ caught my eye. I love essential oils and I’ve never heard of this way of enjoying them. I’m super interested to try it out. I love meditating, yoga and doing deep breathing exercises. I’d love to add this into my routine. Am I too late for the drawing?

  4. Marylin Maley

I would love to try these I have just discovered oils , and love diffusers, this is so intriguing to me!!?.. curious. I’ve heard a lot about and my friend vape but that’s not what I was looking for.. I’m super excited I found this site and maybe even a chance to try for free.??

  5. Tiffany

I’d love to try this! I’ve been using a CBD pen for anxiety (lucky enough to live in a recreational use state) but it really only works for body relaxation. I’d love to find something to help my mind settle down.

  6. Amber

That was such a great review. I would love to try these out as I’ve recently been separated from my boyfriend. The anxiety without him has been through the roof.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

The recommended general use is to take a couple of puffs 2-3 times a day. Some people do use it more often and/or take stronger puffs-it’s really about personal preference. If I were quitting smoking with it, I would not use it as often as I would a cigarette, but I would use it during those really intense cravings, and then a couple of “scheduled” puffs every few hours and then gradually space that out over time until I was only using it once or twice a day, and then not at all except for just to relax or unwind. Some people find that they don’t need to do any of the scheduled puffs and just use it when the big cravings hit. Again, it’s really about personal preference. It smells so much better than smoking, I can tell you that. Overall it is a much more pleasant experience. ❤️

  7. Tina Lesher

Very interesting concept. I’d definitely consider trying this product with a bit more research on the monq website to read the ingredients and faq

  8. Mary

This sounds like such a great concept I’d love to see if it helps ease my anxiety which can feel overwhelming at times. Thanks for the great review!:)

After scrolling the internet and looking at videos and websites about Monq, this is by far the most in depth and helpful review I’ve seen. Thanks for writing it!

  10. Jenna

I was diagnosed with social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder about 3 years ago and it’s definitely taken a toll on my life. I would love to try anything new!! Awesome review and video 🙂

  11. Zoe

I just found out about this last night! I use an aromatherapy diffuser to help sleep and calm me down sometimes, but something portable like this would be awesome!

  12. Julia

Thank you so much for this review! I heard about MONQ from an ad on Instagram and was very curious about whether or not it would actually work, and your review really helped me out. A friend let me borrow the Happy MONQ, but the Zen one seems great. I probably will invest in one soon, and I really hope that it helps me relax when I need it, I definitely see how it could.

  13. Joyel

Thank you for your review. I was researching for a friend but now I think I want to try it myself! I could really use one to help with memory and focus!

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

That is great Joyel, I have found personally that Happy works well for focus for me! Hmmm…. I can’t remember if there is one that helps with memory. Ok just kidding I actually am not sure about memory that will be a good one for me to do a little inquiring about. I have you entered into the giveaway. 😉

  14. Godislove

Def. will try it for my son who suffers with anxiety. Was not sure as I wanted to make sure it was safe for him and all reviews point to yes. Pricey but if it works I would rather he do this then medication. Thanks

  15. Marc Franco

I’m making yet another attempt at quitting smoking. I’ve had the most success with acupuncture in the past so that’s where I’m starting. But since researching Zen MONQ, I’m going to give it a shot. I’m also considering drinking certain teas to help me through. I’m pulling out all the weapons to defeat this demon that has plagued me for over 20 years. Funny part about this is September 22 is my quit date and it is also the day of the drawing for the free Zen MONQ. I hope it means something. Probably doesn’t. Just a funny coincidence.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Good luck to you Marc. Do not give up. Honestly I think I tried 100 times before I finally did i. I know you have probably heard this a million times but just remember that each craving only lasts a few minutes. Ride it out like a wave until you get to the next one, and at first it is going to be like you are trying to surf your way through a hurricane, but eventually you will see the storm gets lighter and lighter and the waves start spacing out with longer and longer times between them. MONQ has helped a lot of people quit. But in addition to MONQ, trust and faith in the processs goes a long way. Do not doubt that it will get easier. Never waver in that, and it will carry you through. Okay, enough of that..lol..you are in the drawing.

  16. Caroline

Hi, I absolutely loved this post! I’ve been considering trying Monq for a while now, but I’m a college student and unfortunately on a budget. $20 seems like a lot to me, however I think if I tried Monq and liked it I would be willing to purchase in the future. My anxiety has been increasing through college, and I’d love to find a natural way to help me through it. I’d like to be entered in the drawing!

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Thanks Caroline. College is a very common time and place for anxiety symptoms to erupt or worsen. I will enter you in the drawing and in the meantime put a focus on self care – hot baths, deep breathing, meditation. I know it sound like such generic advice, but it really does help assure your brain that all is well in your world during this time of change and upheaval and high demand in your life.

  17. Tee

I actually purchased without doing any research at all and felt really dumb. This is a great review. FYI, I totally put the packaging up to my mouth too before realizing it was inside. I didn’t try ZEN though, I tried “Happy” and “Sleepy”. The Happy one is nice too and my first time trying it was on a really freaking sucky day. So I would say I felt the same as you with ZEN which I’m now excited to try. I just felt things slow down a little in my mind and was a little more relaxed. Not necessarily Happy, its not a magic wand even though it looks like one. But there was comfort there. I enjoyed them both. Sleepy really helped me settle my mind so I could fall asleep fairly quickly which is huge for me. The only thing is, I woke up with this bad vitamin taste in my mouth. I’m only guessing the Sleepy MONQ was the cause of this as I can’t think of anything else. Has anyone else tried this and/or had anything similar? Either way, worth it!

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Hi Tee, thanks for the comment. I am glad I am not the only one who tried to puff on the canister. 😉 I personally have not had a funny taste left over after the sleepy nor heard about that. I know that with the first Sleepy formula, people said that they didn’t like the smell of the Valerian so they changed the formula for it, and I am not sure I have tried that blend since they changed the formula so that could be why. Glad you enjoy the MONQs and I will enter your name in the drawing!

  18. Trish

I’ve been tossing and turning on whether to try MonQ or not as I’ve seen a rival company pop up called the zenpen but I’ve discovered you can purchase monQ using PayPal where as the rival company does not have that as an option. Just some extra info for anyone who may or may not be considering either company.

After reading your review it’s strengthened my decision in purchasing MonQ over Zenpen.

  19. Suzette

I’ve been wanting to try MONQ for a while and I finally got around to doing some research, your review is extremely helpful, and I really really want to try it now, thanks! I’m also gonna be checking your site for other posts 🙂 And the fact you’re doing a giveaway is definitely a plus!

  20. jrsmith2

Your review really helped me when I purchased my first MONQs. I chose the active, mountain, ocean, and sexy pens and I am loving them already. I loved your post and thought you described the product just as I would have.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

That’s great! I love Mountain. My second favorite. Thanks for the comment and I have you entered into the giveaway!

  23. Leslie Terwilliger

I have been a little hesitant to give this a try, but after reading your review, I feel like I could really give this a try! I have had anxiety for the last ten years or so and have now just started to try to use essential oils. Thanks for the great review!

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Essential oils are amazing. Even if you decide to try them in a different form such as a room diffuser or car diffuser, they can make SUCH a difference.

  24. Sskee

Hi great review. I was interested in this product already but like you i also wanted to do a little research before buying. I would love the opportunity to win 1 to sample (of course!) So hope i can be included in the giveawag draw. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I would absolutely love to try one of these diffusers! I have been looking for something to help me get to sleep and quiet the anxiety. And to be able to wear it as a necklace? Genius!

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

If you are looking for help sleeping, I recommend giving Sleepy MONQ a try. It is one that you would only have to take one or two puffs off of at bedtime and it should last a couple of months. I find them to be helpful. I’ve got you entered into the giveaway Hailey, thanks!

  26. Emmalene

    Hi Lisa,

Thank you for the very thorough review, it was very interesting and super helpful. I keep seeing the MONQ products on social media and I’m very curious to see what the hype is all about. Working full time, perusing a masters, beginning to look for a home while staying fit and social can be challenging. I can definitely see a benefit from the product, considering the variety of ‘moods’ available as well as its appealing portability. Life has a way of getting crazy at times, and while I agree there isn’t a magic wand to fix it, having a convenience time-out in your purse can give you the pick up you need an make any moment more enjoyable.

Thank you again for the review and I’m looking foward to exploring the rest of your blog. Cheers!

I was thinking about ordering one of their vapes to help me concentrate due to the fact that I have adhd and concentrating happens to be a load for me. I don’t truly know if I should go for this cause some feedback has been poor of their products. Buzz feed put up a video for their product and also I compared it to the other YouTube review videos and it made me even more unsure. For 20 dollars it causes you to be careful before purchasing. You want it to be your money’s worth. From your feedback I can put up another positive. Thanks for putting up a review. Blessings to you.

  36. Dani Marie Ulschmid

After reading this review, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a Zen Monq. I’m hoping it helps with anxiety! Thanks for the review, it really helped with my decision to buy!

I was searching for these pens because I remembered a while back hearing about how they can possibly have a positive effect on moods or aiding in anxiety or depression a bit. I did some researching and stumbled upon your review. To sum it up, I really feel like this would be the best thing to try out. I’ve been wanting to find something that will relax me when I feel so anxious or worried. I think I may have found the right answer to my problem! ☺️ @TheWorryGames

My best friend bought some MONQ pens a few days ago and let me try one, after feeling instantly relaxed I was curious as to whether this was a placebo type effect or if others had felt this instantaneous release of stress/anxiety. This is a great review and has definitely convinced me to buy some of my own! Thanks!

I ordered a zen and I’m waiting for it in the mail I have high anxiety issues I’m hoping it relaxes me esp being a single mom of two and I’d love the opportunity to win a zen too

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Hi Melissa, I am a mom and let me tell you. It makes all the difference. 😉 Good luck in the drawing.

  40. Madison

Wow great review! I’m very happy I read this! I struggle wth anxiety myself and am looking for new natural ways to help myself cope constantly. I definitely think this would be a good thing for me! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences!

  41. Amanda

Great review! I’m a big fan of your website because I relate to you very easily. I am very curious about MONQ and have been doing a lot of research which lead me to stumbling across your page! I’d like to be entered into the drawing, please. 🙂

  42. Tina

Thank you for the in depth review of Monq. I’ve recently seen the product and wondered if it actually worked or if it was just nonsense. I think I might like to give it a try especially if it will help with the cravings of a cigarette with out nicotine.

  43. Mila

This review is great! I have been so curious in MONQ the past couple of days, and now I am greatly considering buying one. Aromatherapy has always been such a cool concept to me.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

It is cool, isn’t it? I admit, I didn’t really take it seriously whenever friends of mine would talk about their “oils”. If MONQ hadn’t come along, I doubt I ever would have tried them at all, and now I have little bottles lined up on my mantle and a MONQ on my nightstand. Thank you, you are entered into the drawing!

  44. Tammy

I’m currently dealing with issues with my life and i’m not quite sure if it’s an anxiety issues or stress or what, but I’m trying to get better by non medicinal ways and I came across with Monq and I want to try but I also was worried due to inhaling (looks like e-cig) but if I could, i would love to try the sample and if its helpful to me and all I’m willing to try other selections I might need. I would be very happy if I could win the giveaway. Thank you for reading and thank you for great reviews and informations.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Hi Tammy, I am sorry for what you are going through. I will definitely enter you in the drawing. Keep in mind that if you do win, or decide to purchase it on your own, you simply suck on it as if you are pulling liquid through a straw, then exhale it out of your nose. You do not inhale it into your lungs, as it was designed to work with your nose. Best wishes to you and I hope things get better for you soon.

      1. Tammy

Thank you so much for telling me how to use the item. If I win the drawings or decide to purchase, i would’ve just inhaled it. This is really important. Thanks i will keep in mind. 🙂

  45. Leli

I too suffer from anxiety and I’m a long time cigarette smoker who really needs to quit! E-cigs just don’t work for me and vaping doesn’t appeal to me either. After reading your review, I’m eager to give this a try! Just might be the trick to quitting tobacco and relieving some of the anxiety. Thanks for sharing! ??

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

I definitely recommend these for quitting smoking. It takes some getting used to, to remember not to inhale down in to your lungs. But the feeling in your mouth is so similar to that of smoking, minus the harshness and icky taste of course, that I honestly think they are a great way to transition from smoker to non-smoker – even if they are just to use for a few weeks to get you over the rough period. Thanks and I have you in the drawing.

  46. Tara

Thank you for the review! I was having second thoughts about purchasing and now I’ve placed my order. Can’t wait to get mine! Enjoy the weekend <3

  47. Sofia

I was really curious about the “breathing” but you explained it pretty well. Im a claims adjustor and sometimes get some really stressfull calls that i need help calmind down from and so muh work that i sometimes feel i cant focus. Im thinking about possibly getting a zen and one to help me focus a little. I used to drink coffee but caffeine is a migraine trigger so i no loger can and my productivity has suffered. Do you have any reccomendations for focusing and productivity?

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

I used to be a front desk supervisor for a local physician and believe me I know all about the stress of working the phones and with the public. If I had Zen back in those days I can promise you I would have been stepping away from the patients to take a few puffs on a regular basis. Just remember to always keep your voice slow and steady and do your best to inform…not “react”. Its a tough one, but stick that on a sticky note in front of you at your desk.

Staying active without caffeine is a tough one, especially once you have been a caffeine user and then had to give it up. The idea of this may sound awful to you but have you considered getting up and working out before going to work? Any type of cardio or weights or even yoga would be good. I know this sounds so cliche but the truth is that exercise clears out my head and keeps me energized all day long. Once you get past the initial first few weeks of your body adjusting to it, it makes such a difference. I find that fruit smoothies help a lot. If there is a drive through place to pop into on your way to work that offers all natural, sugar free smoothies, they are so good and good for you, plus the iciness and vitamins keep you energized.

Deep breathing helps. Positive thinking helps. Sometimes just getting up from your desk and walking up and down a hall for a few minutes can help. Hmm, now I am thinking I should write a blog post on this topic! Actually, I think I just did..lol. I will stick this in my idea box! Thanks!

  48. Mercedes

Thank you so much for this review! I was anxious to try this and now after reading this I’m super excited to give it a go!?

  49. Sam Sandri

Hey, thank you for this review! I was really unsure of it because it just reminds me of vaping and I was never interested in it. But I absolutely love essential oils and I have used them religiously for the past couple years. I’m curious about this product now!

  50. Larissa

I’ve been really REALLY intrigued by MONQ. I love essential oils and feel like this would be an awesome opportunity to try one. This was a great review and I am so excited about the giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win. Take care.

  51. Jennifer Molley Wilson

Thanks so much for this review! I just learned of the MONQ today, and I am anxious to check it out. I shared on Pinterest, but I’m not sure if I tagged you correctly. Looking forward to the drawing. My birthday is the day after yours, June 28! I hope your day is filled with bodacious awesomeness!

  52. Danielle Mulcahy

What a fantastic review. Just tried one last night under a full moon in the desert surrounded by sage brush. It felt like I was wind blowing through them. (That sounds trippy i know ) I’m a non smoker, no drinking and no coffee but when my firend told me it was only oils I thought hey what the heck. Haven’t stopped thinking about it. Your review was really helpful. Add me to the drawing and happy birthday !

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Hey, I totally get where you are coming from. One of my favorite things about MONQ is that it not only helps me relax at the end of the day, but it also can really enhance an experience just as you described. Glad you love it so much and I will put you into the drawing. Thanks for the comment. 😉

  53. Misty

This review helped me decide rather to try MONQ or not. I have been smoking an ecig for 3 years, and truly only use it for my anxiety and depression. I have type one diabetes and was really surprised by the reviews I read about “healthy” so naturally it was one I wanted, than when I read your review on “zen” I knew I had to have it as well! I was nervous about trying it, but I just placed my order thanks to your review! Also, I am trying to figure out how to share on Pinterest! !

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Hi thanks for the comment Misty. Let me know what you think! And, I have a Pinterest button at the top of the Review that makes it easy to just click and share. But its okay, I have you entered into the drawing, so you don’t need to worry about that. xo

  54. Vanessa

I’m about to purchase a 4 pack, I have depression and anxiety so im willing to try anything that can give me some moments of relief when I’m down 🙂

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

You are about to get some wonderful smelling mail Vanessa. 😉 I wish you well in managing your anxiety and depression and I have your name entered in the drawing. Thank you.

  55. Alexandra Alfaro

Thanks so much for this review! I shared on Pinterest and tagged you as well. I have been looking for alternatives to smoking for a while and have recently explored the world of essential oils, so this seems like something I would LOVE! I have struggled with anxiety for over 10 years now, always working on ways to better myself. As a therapist now, I absorb a whole lot of anxiety and need new ways to zen out. I really would love to try this product! PS – my birthday is June 19, I’m a June baby too 😉

  56. Aunyá DeAnn

Thank you for your review!! I have high-functioning anxiety but some days are harder than others. I have been looking into buying one/some of these for this and also because I have been recently started reading up on aromatherapy and essential oils. I appreciate your honest opinion!!

  57. Corinna

Thank you! I definitely feel better about purchasing this product. Now I just have to decided which one to try first… Also you share the same birthday as my sister, and now that I think about it, this would make the perfect gift. It may even help her out now that she’s quit smoking!

  58. Karen V

This review was great I’ve been trying to decide wether or not to try it since it is a bit pricey and I wasn’t sure if it would work but I definitely want to give it a try now ?

  59. Caitlin

I’m waiting for my first Monq delivery right now and I’m pretty excited! I loved reading a review from someone who’s new to essential oils and was skeptical of them working as claimed, thank you for your honesty!

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

I was the newest of the new Caitlin. Now I have my kids unable to go to sleep at night until I plug in their room diffusers. lol Thanks for commenting and you are entered into the giveaway.

  60. Jennifer

Thank you for your review! I was super unsure about purchasing one of these, but I think I will go ahead and get a few now! I’m not a smoker or a frequent vaper, but I’m optimistic about essential oils 🙂

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Jennifer that is great. Stop back and let me know what you think. And definitely check back on the 27th to see if you won the giveaway.

  61. Rebecca

I really only heard about Monq this morning after watching a video review. I looked at their website after, but I was still uncertain. A moment ago, I decided to see if there was any correlation between this product and mood and mental disorders when I found this article. Thank you for sharing your review.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

Thank you for taking the time read it Rebecca. I appreciate you stopping by and I have your name entered into the drawing.

  62. Maria B.

Thanks for reassuring me of this product!
I just recently purchased a 4 pack and am anxiously waiting for it in the mail so I can try it out. I’m all for natural, organic, healthy, etc! When I came across MONQ, I was quite skeptical and am still currently researching the product. But your review, I found was not only honest but very informative. This has me more excited!

  63. Kim D

Hi! I’m so glad I was able to see your review about the MONQ. The reviews were very helpful and I decided to buy it to relieve my stress and anxiety with my nursing program.

    1. AnnaLisa Scott Post author

I worked in the medical field for a long time. I know how stressful nursing can be. Good luck to you and I have you entered in the drawing!

  64. Cristina

Hey , thanks for the review. I’ve been a bit skeptical about purchasing MONQ but after this review I definitely want to give it a shot. ?

  65. Sarah M

Hey thanks for such a great review, I was skeptical from the MONQ website to be honest; I’m leery of things that are too new and seem to have that hip, yet transient, vibe, if you know what I mean. I feel better about the product after your review, however, and am more inclined to purchase one for myself. Thanks again!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Linda, MONQ does recommend that the product only be used for those 18 years and older due to the hand to mouth movement that mimics cigarette smoking.

  66. Nicholas

One of my friends recommended this to me, and decided to do my own research. This was very concise and informative. I have been having issues sleeping lately. I would definitely want to try this.

  67. Cassandra

I love essential oils they’re a way of life in my household and I’m very excited to try this product. Purchased my first order today!

  68. Talore

Thanks for the review. Ive been looking into getting a zen one for me and my sister for a while. I dont like the medications for anxiety and I think this would be an awesome substitute.

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I think they are great for anxiety and they actually have a new blend Mountain out now that really isn’t marketed toward being a “calming” blend, but it mellows me out even more than the Zen does, so just something to consider. I have you entered into the drawing, thanks!

  69. Mackenzie

Thanks for posting this! I myself am trying to quit smoking cigarettes, well because I’m fed up with the money I’m spending on something so short-lived and unhealthy. It’s a disgusting habit that I’m really ready to relieve myself of. I’m looking towards MONQ as not only a way to quit, but also a path to a healthier lifestyle in general. I’m excited to try!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I have seen so many great reviews related to MONQ and smoking cessation Mackenzie. I do hope you try it and it works just as well for you. I put your name into the giveaway!

  70. Mercedes

Thank you for posting this review! I’ve really been debating getting this product and your review really helped me understand the product better. I can’t wait to try it! 🙂

  71. Laurel

I saw these awhile back and I’ve been looking for a great review like this. I’m a reasonably skeptical person and didn’t want to spend that much money on something that could only possibly work or only had what the company was saying. I just got through my sophomore year of college and it’s honestly been the hardest year of my life. My parents got a divorce, I’ve had 3 panic attacks (which I’ve never had before), and had 9 classes at only 12 credits. I’ve just been very sad and honestly just depressed this year. I’ve been wanting something like this just to calm myself down and just feel even a little bit better. So hearing this review is great, thank you for your extensive detail.

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Wow you are going through a lot Laurel. Very normal for panic attacks to arise at times such as this. I offer you a hug and support if you need it. You are entered into the drawing. Good luck. AL

  72. Ally

I was wondering what type of packaging it comes in when shipped, is the package discreet or does it say aromatherapy inhaler on it?

  73. Eva Cate Underwood

My stepmom is very into essential oils, I was introduced to lavender oil to put me to sleep, and it helped tremendously! I soon was looking up more ways to use essential oils and things like aromatherapy, I was hooked! My lifelong best friend, practically sister, introduced me to MONQ. At first I thought she was stupid for using something that looked similar to harmful e-cigs or vapes, but once I got to reading up on it, I felt so stupid! My stepmom ordered me a Zen MONQ to help with anxiety and the friend gave me an extra sleep MONQ she had! So far I’m in love!

Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for posting this review. I have been battling my own anxiety for a few years. I take medication to help with it now, but I’m starting to wean off of that to try some more natural approaches. I have been eager but also a little hesitant to trying these products, but I think your review convinced me to give it a go. I’m heading over to their website now to see which products would suite me best. Thank you 🙂

    – Sam

  76. Destinee Commander

Hi Lisa. Thank you for sharing your experience. I used to smoke and I switched to E-Cigs but I think I want to switch to MONQ, even more so after reading your review. I was weary of not being able to refill the unit and if it was worth the $20 but by the sounds of it, it is. Once again thank you 🙂
    -Destinee

  77. Jesse Renard

Thanks for your review, it honestly helped alot and I’ve always love things that come from nature. I have seen the ads of Monq before but never really paid much attention and I honestly interested.

  78. Nicole P

I’ve seen the hype about MONQ lately and I’m super intrigued. I try to manage my anxiety with homeopathic remedies like essential oils often…so I think it’s time to try. Very pleased I happened upon your site as well.

  79. Hilary

I’ve seen the monq ads and have been intrigued by the product. I use essential oils topically and in my diffuser, but I really think I’d enjoy the “act” of using monq, like you mentioned, far better! Thanks for the review!

  80. Tosha

Thank you for your review. Imuat admit that i was skeptical but after reading your review, I definitely want to try the Monq products. With two little ones running around, i could always use a zen moment in my busy day.
    Thanks again!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Tosha I live for my moments of Zen, let me tell you. I try to save them for the end of the day so I have something to look forward to…its a nice dangling carrot to have. 😉 You are entered into the drawing!

  81. Nicole

Thank you for this review! I have been contemplating ordering. I am also very skeptical, so I have to do a lot of research!

  82. Kylea

Thank you for the review! I have been wondering about these for a while and I have anxiety and depression so they intrigued me. Add all that on to being a college student:) I think I will treat myself for sure! (Also, I don’t have a Twitter…can I post on Instagram & Facebook instead?)

  83. Camille

I’d love to win your giveaway! I can definitely see how it can help a person stop smoking. I love how honest and thorough your review was. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!

  84. Micheralyn

This looks like a really great product that might actually help a smoke addict stop smoking. I’d love to win in this give away! So excited! It really might help my grandmother from smoking!

  85. Heather

After a suggestion from a friend I decided to do some research about MONQ. In doing that I found your article. I have to say I feel much the same way. I have experience with essential oils…I’ve been using them for migraines for 18 years…and have been diving into other roll-on blends and lotions for the last 5 years or so…and I love my diffuser! I’ve never seen oils presented quite like this before so I’m curious. After hearing about your results I am seriously going to give this company, and their products, a try.

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I love all essential oils regardless of how they are dispensed or used but I have to say it does make it easier when the work is done for you. 😉 I have your name entered into the giveaway!

  86. Amber

I’m excited to see you doing another giveaway, Lisa! I’ve been doing a lot of research into MONQ and have been hoping to try it. MONQ seems like the perfect addition to my anxiety treatment. Thank you for the chance to win!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I have decided I like giving things away…lol. I am going to try to do two every month so I always have one going on…depending on how things go. Stop on back! And I have your name entered!

  87. sam

I purchased these about six months ago when I first attempted to quit smoking. A friend of mine had the Zen blend and let me try it, and I ended up buying every flavor. My initial cold turkey attempt at quitting tobacco was unfortunately unsuccessful. I decided to try again, this time with a patch and I’m feeling much less stressed. I was really nervous about getting out of work tonight and not being able to have that end of shift smoke I’m so accustomed to. I remembered I had these pens and I’m so glad I did! Even though I wasn’t edgy from nicotine withdrawal, the fear of losing that (horrible, horrible) habit gave me so much anxiety I almost relapsed. I’m so grateful to have found a healthy alternative that supplements the tactile cravings. Thanks for posting this review, I couldn’t agree more!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Sam that is great. I am so glad it helped! I appreciate the comment and I will enter your name in the giveaway!

  88. Amy Clarke

This review was very helpful! I am definitely curious, and would be willing to give it a try sometime. The lavender one seems like it would be helpful to have with anxiety. I’ve been interested in lavender diffusers, but also don’t want this awkward/bulky set up on my night stand. This seems like a really great alternative. So thank you!

  89. Chloe Palfy

I tried my friends for the first time yesterday and I loved it! She had the Vibrant and it helped me relax and made me kinda happy after a VERY stressful day:) I’ve been googling it all day to see what others thought and that’s how I found your blog! I want to enter the giveaway because I love this product SO much.

  90. Sarah Cummins

I will definitely be trying this now. I was concerned about the actual effectiveness of it but your review makes me think it’ll help!

  91. Amy Davenport

This article was hit the mark for me.. I have been seeing ads for monq for more hs now and they have intrigue me for a while. I finally decided to research and find reviews…. Thank you! I just ordered my first 4 pack! I’m excited… I’m a smoker.. and I hate the money and time it consumes.. and I have anxiety issues… I really hope this helps me quit and be the m9m I know I can be! My coffee compani9n is about to change?

  92. Erin

Thank you for the post! I’m going to be 23 on the 29th, and I’ve been smoking cigarettes since 15. I’ve been wanting to quit for sometime now, because the cigarettes have killed my lungs, and I want to become a healthier and happier version of who I am. It’s not easy kicking the habits of nicotine. So, I’ve been looking for a product to help me with my horrible habits. I never liked “the vape”, I tried it once, and thought it was just too much and made me cough just as bad as smoking does. I’m new to aroma therapy, but just by reading your post, I’m feeling more optimistic about it. I’m curious about the long term effects and if it really is healthy for you, but I’ll have to test it myself. Thank you for taking the time to write this informative post!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I have talked to a lot of people who said that MONQ helped them quit, and just from my own personal experience as a former smoker, I can definitely see how it would be a good substitute. Good luck in the giveaway!

  93. Brittany

Heard of MONQ for the first time today – and ever the skeptic, searched for reviews. Your review made me optimistic. I’d love to be entered in the drawing! Thanks again for the honest review.

  94. Andrea

Hi! Thanks for the thorough review. I’ve been looking for more natural, alternative ways to work through my anxiety. I’m generally skeptical about this product, but I do recognize the benefits of essential oils and this seems like great way to carry those benefits with me for times I’m feeling overwhelmed by my anxious thoughts. Your review has encouraged me to give Zen MONQ a try!

  95. Jason

Hey there! I have severe stomach conditions and was looking into the Healthy options and adding on the Zen to alleviate the stress it call me. I would love to try this! Thank you for this article It provides me some comfort in knowing someone has tried it.

  96. Clara

Hi there! Your post made me feel super inspired to order the Zen MONQ. I am trying to quit smoking and I have tried gum, cold turkey and e cigs and I can’t seem to quit. I am a huge fanatic for my essential oils air diffuser but sadly I can’t take that to class and work. I’m super excited! Thanks for the inspiration.:)

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Congrats on making the choice to quit Ciara. I genuinely believe that MONQ would have made it so much easier when I did. Muck luck to you and you are entered in the drawing.

  97. Cortney

I have anxiety and I have withdrawals from my anxiety medicine that I take if I accidentally skip a dose. I hate being dependent on this medicine and I was hoping for a more natural way to help when I came across MONQ. I’ve been wanting to try it, but not sure if it’s worth the $20…After all, $20 is a lot for a poor college student. I think after reading your review, I’m more convinced than ever to try it! Thank you so much for you article!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I know, aren’t essential oils great? I can’t believe I went most of my life without ever using them. Thanks for the comment and stop back for results on the 25th. 🙂

  98. Christine Boland

I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff about MONQ on Facebook and instagram and have been skeptical about trying it. I wouldn’t say I suffer from an anxiety disorder, but I would definitely say the anxious feeling and stress is there. I’m not one to open up to someone about my feelings and I’m afraid of medication. Afraid of doctors in general really. After reading your post I decided to purchase the Zen and I’m pretty excited. Thanks for the insight! 🙂

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I have never used anxiety medication either. I always went the natural route. I have much respect for those who do choose to use meds..I just knew it wasn’t my preferred way of managing my anxiety. I would have been obsessed with worrying about side effects and I can’t have an anxiety tool that gives me MORE anxiety. lol Kind of pointless, right? But I felt okay about MONQ. Lots of good info on their site for those who like to be extra cautious like me and really learn what is in the product before making their decision. Thanks for taking the time to comment..I appreciate it and have your name entered into the drawing.

  99. Julia H

I would absolutely love to try MONQ! I struggle with anxiety so I want to see if this can help calm me down in times of panic, but as I am 18 and still in high school, I know my mom won’t trust anything that looks like smoking 🙁 loved your review and thank you for keeping it concise but also answering all the questions I had!!!! <3

  100. Sasha

I love essential oils and this seems like a great way to make it portable without risking irritating people with the strong smells of them (via roller balls).

  101. Brenda James

Loved this review! My son is a master vaper… to complicated for me. My daughter just ordered Monq and asked me to read up on it. That’s when I found this site. I love the idea and can’t wait to try it. Have wanted to try the oils but this is a new twist. I’m sold. Thanks!

  102. Katie

I just read about this and started to research it! This review was exactly what I was looking for! I would buy it now but being a college student has put me on a super tight budget. I think the Zen one would help a lot. School has me constantly stressed out.

  103. Rachel

I have been researching MONQ for such a long time and have been waiting to get one! After reading your article, I can’t wait to get one! I just purchased one today. I have extreme social anxiety and my family found this product to help me. After reading your article I am elasticated to use it!

  104. Amber

I’ve been doing research into MONQ for awhile now and am very interested in giving it a try. Since late last year I started developing anxiety attacks again after years of being on the mend. I’ve been hoping to find something to assist me in a healthy, natural way. MONQ seems like the way after all the positive experiences I’ve been reading about. I really appreciate your in depth and honest review, Lisa, and would love to be entered for a chance to win. Love and Blessings to you!

  105. Dominique Aragon

Hi! I just discovered monq today. I’m absolutely in love with essential oils and own a diffuser. Would you still recommend monq if I already own a diffuser? Also what’s your favorite blend? Thanks!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Dominique I own a room diffuser that I keep going a lot of the time and I move it from room to room because I just like the smell of essential oils and I think it makes the overall vibe of the house nicer..but then I also have the MONQs that I use for more of a personal experience and it is sort of a little ritual I do, put the kids to bed, close my house up, use my MONQ and then start into my book. Plus I usually take one with me when I go places as well. So for me personally, there is definitely a use for both. Zen is my favorite blend and always will be, although I have to say they have a new one coming out that I am kind of thinking I even like better than the Zen..can’t believe I am saying that..but I can’t wait to start promoting it. Happy is one of my faves too tho.

  106. Becky

Do you find that the battery gets hot or anything? After hearing about the vaporizers with lithium batteries exploding, I am hesitant to purchase something similar (lithium batteries are listed as the power source). Have you noticed any problems with them over heating?

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Becky, I have been using MONQ and talking to people who use MONQ for a little over a year now and I have never heard of anybody who had a problem of that nature. If I ever do, I will absolutely mention it here in the review.

  107. Julianna

I was iffy about trying one out and have been searching the web for reviews on it, and honestly after reading yours I am sold on it and about to order my own!!

  108. Michelle

After this review i went an order one of the zen for my severe anxiety!! i really hope it helps me out because if it works wonders that will mean a natural way of helping me out

  109. Raquel Diamandis

So cool! I’ll definitely be needing one of these. If you haven’t already ended it, id love if you’d enter me in the giveaway. I’ll be buying one anyways 🙂

  110. Raven

I’ve been seeing ads for everywhere and after reading this review, I’d love to give it a try. Please enter me into the drawing 🙂

  111. Maddy

I also suffer from anxiety and deal with high stress levels on a daily basis from work school and family life. I would love to try this but was very skeptical about the cost. I was also wondering if you new where the product was made? Is it located in the US? With all US materials? Are all their materials and methods of production reliable and ethical? I would love to purchase one to try it if I know this info. I would also love to be entered in your March contest 🙂

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Maddy, great questions! I have a link here to MONQ’s website that I think covers everything you asked. MONQ is very open with their safety and manufacturing information so any more questions, please let me know. And yes I have you entered in the drawing. Thx! https://monq.com/ethics/

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

MONQ will last depending on how often you use it and how often you puff from it. I use mine only once a twice a day and I am not a very strong puffer so mine have lasted a couple of months before…usually around 5-6 weeks though. However there are some people who use it more frequently and they will use their up in a few weeks. I would say on average, one will probably last in the 3-4 week range. Usually between 200-250 puffs is the average lifespan of a diffuser.

  112. Alexandra

I just ordered zen monq a few days ago! I can’t wait until I get it in the mail. I suffer from anxiety due to life and nursing school and after reading your review I am looking forward to trying it even more! Thanks!

  113. Lexi Pennisi

I also tried the Monq Zen and completely agree with this review, as someone who also has dealt with anxiety for a long time. I am trying to figure out which to try next, and would love to be entered in the giveaway, thanks MONQ!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Lexi. There is a great new blend in the works that I don’t think I am allowed to talk about yet but check back in a month or so and hopefully I will be able to share the details and do another giveaway. 😉

  114. Toni-Lynn

I am so grateful to have seen this review! I too deal with anxiety and stress that is often off the charts and would love to find a more natural way to help with it. Please enter me in the giveaway!

  115. Stephanie

I’m so gonna try. Thanks for your review. I have social anxiety and love the idea of vaping it away … Please enter me for drawing! Thanks!

  116. Victoria

Thanks so much. I had just ordered mine this weekend and came across your blog. I’m excited to get the product in the mail. I absolutely love the effect oils have had in my life. I frequently get migraines and use oils instead of medication as a way of coping with them. I personally use doterra brand oils that I’m obsessed with so hoping these are just as awesome.

  117. Christina

Thank you so much for your review. I am a Young Living rep and love my oils. I’m also a smoker who wants to quit and I’ve been wanting to try monq for a long time and have had a ton of reservations. Thanks to your review I’m going to push the purchase button and get on board.

  118. Christian Solís

After hesitate if buying this device, I’m definitely buying it because of your review. You practically solve all my doubts and I’d like to try it! (:

  119. Emily

I have been hesitant to try it because people are so easy to judge it as an unhealthy drug since it looks like a vape pen and it looks like you’re smoking but it’s actually really nice. I recently received the zen blend and it’s calming without being too overpowering, I’m so happy I got it!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Congrats Alice, you are the winner of the giveaway! My 6 year old son just drew your name. 😉 I will get in touch with you through your email. Hope you enjoy.

  120. Rachel

I have been wanting to try this but thought the hype was just a marketing scheme. Thanks for an honest review, I’m looking forward to trying!

  121. Caz

Never heard of these before (just tried, unsuccessfully to locate them in the UK, so it’s a shame they’re not available here). I like the sound of these being a little lighter, as well as physically more easy to hold and use (like you would a cigarette). Great review of them, very handy!

  122. Taylor schulze

Thank you so much for your review! Recently my anxiety and depression have returned after being medication free and controlled for almost a year. After becoming very conscious about what I put into my body, I’m hesitant to go back on medication. (I hate the numbness it triggers…zombies are for horror movies not my actual life!) I appreciate when someone has a hesitant and apprehensive outlook on something new going into your body. I am a “buyer” by nature and willing to try most things at least once, and I loved your positive feedback!

  123. Lisa Scott Post author

YounSok, Helene, Gina, Tori, Kayla, Eve, Caitlin, Rachel – thank you for entering, I have your names in the drawing!

  124. Caitlin Forrest

I recently came across their ads on FB and was instantly intrigued. I’m always feeling tired and stressed lately with the transition from colleges, and the fact that there is no nicotine or other harmful substances is a blessing because I don’t want to intentionally cause harm to my body. I decided to look more into and came across your post. You make me want to try it even more, but the price is a little much, as you mention above, without knowing how well it will work for you. Then I saw the give away and saw I was just in time to enter! Fingers crossed! Have a blessed year!

  125. Eve

As someone who struggles with anxiety (sometimes to the point of being unable to leave my home), I have been curious about MONQ since I began seeing advertisements for it. I started smoking cigarettes when I was very young as a way to cope with depression, and I was finally able to quit about a year ago with the aid of e-cigarettes. Recently, I have been going through some tough times and feel as if I am bordering on depression, with the urge to smoke stronger than ever. The e-cigarettes just haven’t been satisfying for me, and I am not enthusiastic about smoking cigarettes again. I have been doing some research on essential oils to where I am now very interested in MONQ and strongly considering giving this product a try. It would be wonderful if I could be entered into your drawing!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review as well on this product. It is very informative and has many of the answers I was looking for!

  126. Rachel

Totally paranoid to start “Vaping”, especially since it would be going into my lungs. My father passed away a year ago due to lung cancer so I have been trying to investigate as much as possible! I think this would definitely help my social anxiety as well! You have definitely helped my decision. I would love to try one!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Rachel, I understand exactly how you feel. I had the same concerns because both of my parents passed away from cancer. Good for you for doing your homework and keep in mind that MONQ does not have to be inhaled deeply down into your lungs. It actually works best when it is just lightly puffed into your mouth, held for a second or two, and then exhaled through your nose. I have you entered in the drawing and thanks so much for taking the time to comment.

  127. Kayla Colson

    Hi,
I would love to try MONQ because I recently started taking anxiety medication which I hate doing because of all the unhealthy ingredients in them and I really want to try a healthier option and hopefully it will finally help me control my anxiety because at this point it feels like it’s taking over my life. I really hope this can help me?

  128. Tori

I recently had a traumatic death in my life, and began smoking copious amounts due to stress. On top of this, I also recently found out I am pregnant. I am struggling to relax, and to quit smoking. I’m hoping that the MonQ could help me

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Tori, I am so sorry about your loss. MONQ is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding because essential oils can cause uterine contractions, but I will enter you in the drawing still and if you win just hang on to it until you are past the pregancy or breastfeeding stage. xoxo

        1. Lisa Scott Post author

Hi Ryan…thanks for the question and sorry for the incomplete answer. In addition to certain essential oils stimulating uterine contractions, there are certain essential oils that the NAHA recommends nursing mothers avoid. For this reason and because there are so many unknowns about fetal and newborn development and health, the company has made the decision to recommend pregnant and nursing women refrain from using MONQ. You can find the entire article from the NAHA at this link http://naha.org/explore-aromatherapy/safety/.

  129. Gina

Thank you so much for your MONQ review! A friend shared hers with me this past weekend. I’ve been working with essential oils 20+ years & was impressed & excited enough by it to research further. I really enjoyed everything about it – The feel, taste, smell, delivery & effect – Even the look of it is appealing – And although anxiety is not an issue personally, my son suffers from severe social anxiety & I feel that he would benefit from this wonderful product. Thanks for inspiring others by sharing & offering this give-away. Your kindness is appreciated! 🙂

  130. Helene

    Hello 🙂
I just stopped by to say that your review is absolutely 100% You covered everything I wanted to know. Thank you very much Lisa 🙂
I would love to try the MonQ because I have a two year old a six year old ,and my husband has PTSD . And sometimes I just need a Break 🙁 and I don’t want to start smoking cigarettes again .
    Wishing you a great day.

  131. YounSok

This year has been a rough rollercoaster for me. I recently lost my grandma and this is hard for me because this was the year I was hoping to strive and give her the opportunity for her to see me graduate through one of the hardest time of my life. Recently life just got harder especially since I am just recently starting college. The changes around me makes me feel homesick and missing my sisters a.k.a my best friends and the sudden overwhelming workload is reviving my anxiety disorder.(I had a rough high school career which consisted of lack of sleep, loss of appetite, and cold sweats due to anxiety) Also with the Zen Monq if it works for me I am hoping to buy one for my dad to help him quit his smoking and drinking daily (a habit that has been lasting for 15 years)and has recently started drinking and smoking daily due to the loss of mother who raised him as a single parent , and to my mom who started developing signs of anxiety from the time she immigrated to this country and to my sisters who are slowly following my path of overstress due to school. Your posts covered each of our issues and I am hoping by trying one I can help my for the better. Thank you.

  132. Lisa Scott Post author

Andrea, Renee, Tiffanie, Morgan, Amery, Daphne, Stephanie, and Lisa – thank you all so much for sharing your comments with me. It is pretty amazing to see so many people who are trying to manage their stress, pain, and cigarette addiction in a natural way – and help their loved ones as well. It seems just a few decades ago, pills were the automatic answer (not that they aren’t beneficial to some), and it makes me glad that people are at least considering other alternatives such as aromatherapy, meditation, etc. . Anyway, ramble over – I have you all entered in the drawing. 😉

  133. Lisa

I recently loss my dad from a sudden heart attack, and my friend suggested to try one of these to help me quit stress smoking and for my anxiety. I have researched the benefits of it & I would love to try it to see how they are and if I like them to continue to purchase them.

  134. Stephanie Rosado

I would love to get this for my mother. She has been trying to quit cigarettes for the past five years and was down to a couple a day, maybe 3 or 4. She was so proud of herself and felt healthier and stronger. This year her mother passed away and she began picking up her cigarettes more frequently. She is up to a pack every two days and is feeling nervous and depressed. From your blog post I believe Monq would help her greatly, to improve her health and well being. I don’t want my mom to give up on something she’s worked so hard for because of the sadness in her life. I would like for her to give these a try. I want to get her these but I am between jobs and cannot afford it myself and I don’t believe my mom would willingly try these on her own. She needs to feel supported again and I think this is one way I can support her. Thank you Ms. Scott and Monq for this opportunity!

  135. Daphne

I would love to try this, since I have been suffering of insomnia for quite a while now. I tend to have a problem with truly relaxing and letting go of things I have to do. I used to have anxiety problems as well. But mostly I want to try it as I had a friend who tried it and wasn’t entirely sure about its ability and I would like to form an opinion of my own after reading this article.

  136. Amery

So, I would love to try the Zen and I have been doing a bunch of research into it (hence how I found this blog). I have social and general anxiety, a 10 month old baby, and a cigarette smoking habit I am trying to quit… However I do not know if I can budget for it because I am worried it won’t be all that it’s cracked up to be. (I am also interested in Sleepy due to my insomnia) (also I take no medications for my conditions, only alternatives)

  137. Tiffanie Smith

I would love to enter to win a Zen MONQ. My daughter and I both have severe anxiety, and I am looking into alternatives to prescription medications that would help and be more natural!

  138. Andrea

I too am not that educated on essential oils. As a college psychology major, I’m surprised by how little research or education there is on aromatherapy here in the U.S. when Eastern cultures have been using it for centuries and have tons of resources on them! I’m definitely exploring this essential oil diffusing stuff and MONQ sounds like it has a lot of potential! Thanks for writing this post and summing it all up for us!

  139. Quinn

Would love to try this — I have persistent anxiety and do everything I can to not need meds (meditation, exercise, light therapy, etc) so this feels right up my alley! Would love a free trial <3

  140. Lynn Corpron

I’ve been dying to try these. I’m a chronic pain patient that treats herself without narcotics. I do relaxation meditation visualization techniques to try and maintain pain control. And these have looked interesting to me as I do use a lot of different essential oils

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Thank you Lynn. I really admire your desire to manage your pain without narcotics. I know that has to be tough. I have you entered in the drawing. xo

  141. Lisa Scott Post author

Lenna, Kayla, Megan, Jules, Alexis – I wish I had the time to answer your comments all individually because I do appreciate them. Thank you and I have you all entered in the drawing.

  142. Alexis

I would love to try this out! I have such terrible anxiety, and I used to be on medication for it. However, I hated how the medication made me feel. I just didn’t feel like myself. So, I quit my medication, but my anxiety has spiked since my dad passed away from cancer, and I just have long been looking for a remedy. I’ve tried CBD, Lavender oil, Eucalyptus, medication, teas, and others but to no avail. This I think from your wonderful review would really help ease the burden of living with anxiety.

  143. Jules

I’m a college student working on my degree in Biochemistry. I have been diagnosed with multiple types of anxiety including social anxiety, OCD, separation anxiety, etc. My anxiety is horrible and almost out of control at times. I have tried other ways to control it and calm me down, none of which I am willing to admit. Some I have gotten dependent on even though I know over all it’s not good for me or my health. This has really caught my eye and I feel like this could really help me with out it also being harmful to me. But I am however like you and skeptical over things like this. I have been fooled before and I’m afraid this won’t work like the others. Since this is a bit of a cost for me, and I don’t really have that money to take a chance on, I would like to receive this in order to see if it will work for me. If it works for me, someone with terrible anxiety, then I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for others. If I do love it, then it will be guaranteed I will buy the Zen MONQ regularly. And I would have you to thank for.

  144. Megan

I would love to try this out! I have anxiety that I have been battling for so long, and I really believe in the power of natural remedies. I’d love to try it out, but right now money is a little tight until mid February (another source of stress!) If this helps my anxiety, I’ll be able to throw smoking, and you know I’ll be a regular customer! I’m just nervous about spending money on a product that I’ve never tried. Either way, I’d love to be part of this giveaway! Hopefully I’m on my way to a happier, healthier me! Thanks!

  145. Lenna

I truly think monq will help me get through my anxiety and depression.Especially being a college student, sometimes I can’t handle the pressure and stress well. Essential oils, I found, help me be more at ease an I love how portable monq is! Thanks for this awesome post Lisa!

  146. Danielle

I want to try MONQ to help me quite smoking as I have been a smoker for over 20 years and I am ready to be done with it. I also have anxiety, I hope that MONQ can help me.

  147. Angela H

I just stumbled upon MONQ today and I have to say it is the best thing I have ever encountered – it seems almost too good to be true. A sleek & easy way to experience aromatherapy without any adverse health effects whatsoever? Count me in! I’m so excited and can’t wait to try Zen MONQ 🙂
Thanks so much for this fantastic post Lisa, I found it really thorough & helpful!

  148. Rayna

Oh my goodness this is the exact post I was looking for! I’ve been struggling with anxiety and just started looking into homeopathy and essential oils. I’ve been hesitant to try these for the same reasons as you. But hearing your story has made me want to try! Thanks for a great post. 🙂

  149. Danielle

Thank you so much for this review! I saw Monq on my Instagram feed and was instantly intrigued. I have the tendency to become over-anxious in stressful situations. As a child I grinded my teeth and would get hives before a test. Now as an adult, I overthink and have trouble sleeping through the night before a big day at work. I think that this would be a great thing to help me relax and sleep better. Thanks again!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I agree it would definitely be worth trying Danielle. You might want to look into the Sleepy MONQ as well. It is a blend that is geared towards promoting restful sleep. I am not sure I am a huge fan of the taste of it, but it does help me get drowsy. Another thing that really helps me sleep is Sleepy Time Extra tea. I can’t remember who makes it, but it is in the green box with the bear on it, so if you haven’t checked that out you might want to look at into it. You can find it at any grocery store. And you are entered in the drawing.

  150. Desiree

I am looking at zen and sexy. After having my first baby my panic attacks have started back and my sex drive has dropped. I would love to have something that helps that is not medication.

  151. Melody Rivera

I suffer from anxiety and depression. I was told I suffer from PTSD after my gram passed because I saw everything. I had taking medication and I read a lot about this. Though it is pricey it would be so exciting for it to work. Thank you for this review.

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

I am sorry that you had to go through that Melody. I am sending you a big hug and will enter your name in the drawing.

  152. Debbie Sherwin

My 11 year old son discovered MonQ online and immediately thought that I would love it since I’m an essential oil fanatic! He keeps asking me if I want one for my birthday but I tell him I need to make sure it’s safe to use. Thanks for your blog post. You are convincing me to try it! My little 11 yr old you-tuber is always entering contests and he would be so happy if I won a monq!!!

  153. Kaye

    Hello
I’m pretty anxious to try monq! I am 60 years young and suffer from terrible anxiety as well as some health issues.
My best friends daughter told me about this. I am fixing to order. Have a blessed day!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Thanks for the comment Kaye. I know what you are going through and its rough some days. Ultimately I know its up to me to do the work it takes to improve my emotional health. (I always want to stress that first and foremost.) But MONQ makes a pretty good “helper” for when a rush of stress starts making me feel really overwhelmed. 🙂 I hope it helps you as well.

  154. Lisa

I’m anxious to try MONQ. I’ve been thinking about it for a few months now. I’m not sure why I’m dragging my feet on it! With the 10% off, I might go ahead and order it!

  155. Morgan

Hello! My Names Morgan! – I was on facebook and MONQ came up in my news feed. It mentioned anxiety (which I have) and i never usually click on ads but this one intrigued me. I decided to research it on Google for reviews and found your blog. Your blog was very helpful to me as you touched every aspect of reveiwing the product. I plan on purchasing the Zen MONQ now once hearing about how it may be an alternative to smoking and feeling calm. I would love to be apart of the giveaway though! I do not have a Twitter anymore.

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Thanks Morgan. I am glad you found my review helpful and I have you entered in the drawing now. I hope it helps with the non-smoking. I quit before MONQ was available but I can say with almost 100% certainty that it would have made it a whole lot easier for me if I had been able to use it.

  156. Amanda

Hi! I’m researching Monq products right now for myself and came across your blog post; I’m 22 (about to turn 23 in a month) and have had anxiety issues for as long as I can remember. I didn’t realize I had it as a kid, but always thought it was weird how everyone else was so carefree and unburdened; when I learned about it when I was older, it was so obvious. I went to a therapist and they diagnosed me with Severe Clinical Depression and Generalized as well as Social Anxiety Disorders. I’ve had bad side effects from a lot of the medications I’ve tried and I’ve been searching for something else that might help for ages; how lucky of me to stumble across this post while you’re offering a giveaway! Even if I don’t win I’ll still be considering purchasing the Zen Monq pen for myself, but I figured it didn’t hurt to try. 🙂 Thank you for your post, it was very informative!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Thanks for the comment Amanda. I completely understand about feeling different than everybody else. I am glad to hear you sought help and were able to be diagnosed. Have you looked into learning your MBTI type? It is not a medical or “official” therapeutic tool I don’t think, but it really helped me sort of understand who I am and what I am all about so it might be something for you to look into. If you decide to try MONQ I hope you find it to be a helpful tool as well. 🙂 AnnaLisa

  157. Barb Walser

I just received my first zen. I have tried it and enjoyed everything about it. I would like to join/register for your giveaway but I don’t know anything about how to use Twitter. Is there another way to register?

  158. Shelby Rose

Hi there! I love the Monq products and have a few of them myself! I just started taking Lexapro last week for my anxiety and was curious as to if you knew anything about being on Lexapro and still using Monq. If anyone has insight on this, that’d be great!

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

No problem Tina – I will just consider your comment an entry. 🙂 I will put you in and use the email address you used to leave this comment as a way to notify you if you win. Thank u!

  159. Jay Boll

Hi, Lisa. I bought a MONQ pen for my daughter’s 18th birthday and everyone else in the family was jealous and wanted one, so I just bought a bunch as stocking stuffers. Used the discount code. My daughter loves her sleep pen and uses it every night.

    1. Lisa Scott Post author

Jay that is awesome! Stocking stuffers – that is the best idea. I was thinking they would make a good Christmas gift but hadn’t even thought about stockings. Now I am going to have to share that idea. 😉 Hope you and your family have an amazing Christmas.

  160. JRay

Love this article! Also have a question: do you know whether you need to keep the white covering on the MONQ pen when its not in use?

    1. Fleurdelisa Post author

That is a great question. I actually choose to leave mine in the canister when it is not being used. I think it keeps the flavor fresher. In addition, I frequently use the MONQ just as a sort of a “scent stick”….while I am writing I will pick it up and run it underneath my nose as I inhale to sort of clear my brain a little…and I find that leaving it in the canister really makes the oils stronger and it gives me a better effect even without puffing on it and heating up the oils.

  161. Katie

Hi, thank you for the review. It seems really thorough and answered a lot of questions I had. I was wondering if MONQ gives you a feeling of being ‘high’ or just simply relaxed. I am still nervous to try it myself. I love the concept but I don’t want anything that makes me feel doped up.

    1. Fleurdelisa Post author

Hi Katie, thanks for the comment. I personally have never felt what I would call a “high” from MONQ. It has never altered my awareness in any way or made me feel loopy or anything like that. Simple relaxation and a feeling of being “content” is the way that the Zen blend affects me.

  162. Meep

Hi, Lisa, BRILLIANT review. I can’t say I’ve read anything more thorough or seemingly unbiased on the Internet concerning MONQ so far!

I would like your opinion on a few things concerning MONQ since you’ve tried it, if you don’t mind, as I’m considering trying it.

One thing that concerns me are the critical reviews reporting that MONQ has no effect whatsoever. They also claim it’s a gimmicky product with a short life-span.
Additionally, you’ve stated that in your experience, MONQ lasts about 2 weeks, whereas the support agent I spoke with estimated it would last 3 weeks with very frequent use, but usually lasts up to 4 weeks.
And unfortunately, the time it lasts does matter if I’m going to get my money’s worth. It also adds up if this is something I’m going to be doing continuously.

    1. Fleurdelisa Post author

Hi Meep, thanks for your comment and your questions! I put a lot of time in this review so I appreciate you saying that. 🙂

As far as people saying MONQ is “gimmicky”, I personally don’t see it that way. When I think of a gimmick, I think of a product like those products you see on TV that claim to be so great and then after about a year, the public as a whole sort of figures out that they are junk and then the product fades into oblivion. My ab roller and my Snackeez cups are all laying in the back of a closet or cabinet somewhere but after 6 months of use, my MONQ is right on my nightstand and one is in my purse so to me that says something.

Yes its cute and it lights up at the end and the attractive aspect of it could make it seem a little “fluffy” and gimmicky, and make people WANT to not like it. I get that and I think maybe that is a lot of what the negative comments are about. But who is to say a product can’t have both looks and substance? I think the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive and that IS what makes MONQ so appealing to people and why they seem to have so many repeat customers. In my mind, I genuinely believe that MONQ came across a really great way to market aromatherapy – it is as simple as that.

My MONQs generally last me about 3 weeks now since I quit using it in the daytime. I have never had one last a full month yet, myself. But really it all depends on how often you use them and how strongly you puff. There really isn’t a way to say for sure how long they will last until you try it and your own personal “puffing” style affects the quantity of vapor that comes out and also how often you use them. I have gotten to the point now where I use them mainly at night just once or twice after my kids go to bed right before I start my book. But I use it more if I go out and about into town but all in all I would say it averages out to about three weeks.

Have you checked out MONQ’s website yet or their Facebook page? They have a lot of good reviews on there from actual users and you can also talk directly to the MONQ staff there and usually there are other actual people there who have tried it that you can talk to. If I were you, I would check into all of that, and just kind of assess everything you have discovered and decide if it is worth twenty dollars to try it for yourself. But I will say that if you do buy it from MONQ and you don’t think it is for you, they will refund your money, within 30 days I think it is, so that is something to take into consideration as well.

Sorry for the long answer. My husband just looked at me typing this and heard all the click-clicking of the keyboard and said “There is nothing short-winded about you, is there?” lol

Thanks again and let me know if you decide to try it and what you think.

      xoxo
      Lisa

      1. Meep

Wow! Thank you for such a quick response and for a little more insight!

To answer your questions, yes, I’ve done a little research. I found MONQ through Facebook and from there, I visited their website for more information. I had the opportunity to speak with a support agent VIA MONQ’s website, and I gathered some information about the product that way. I also knew that his primary goal was to sell the product, so I tried to take everything he said with a grain of salt. 😛

I scouted the site’s reviews (almost all 5-star reviews) as well as Amazon reviews. The verified Amazon reviews on the “Vibrant” MONQ are mostly negative, and all the 5-star reviews come from unverified purchases. Coincidence? Well, I didn’t know what to think, which is how I wandered upon your article!

One last question: have you tried any other flavors besides “Zen”, and if so, how effective have they been for you? How does each flavor’s effect differ from the last in your own experience?

        Anyway, you’ve got me pretty convinced to give this thing a shot. (;

Hi, no problem! I enjoy answering people’s questions. I have tried all of the MONQ blends and Zen is definitely my favorite and maybe it is because I like tea so much and it reminds me of tea vapors and just gives me the “cozies”, but I really like the Sexy blend too. Which is kind of funny because I have five kids and I can honestly say that feeling sexy is NOT on my priority list most days..lol..but I love lime and it has just a hint of that and I like it a lot. Happy is one that I like because I like the vanilla taste a lot. And yes the Vibrant is the one that has a bit of a minty vibe and I am not a real big mint person when it comes to teas or gum or drinks….so its not one of my favorites either. The mint isn’t super strong, but I just find it a little distracting when I am trying to get into a calm zone. It all depends on what you are using it for. Since I use my aromatherapy for a “calming” purpose, I just like oils that are a little more on the mellow side. Except for that Sexy MONQ though..I do like that one. 🙂

Hi there, I was looking at this.product on Facebook and it looks very interesting and unique. I was a bit sceptical about the whole smoking part, because I did not want to be hooked on the nicotine. But reading from your review and the actual website, I really feel confident in buying one. Especially since I am going through a rough break up. I really love your review on this and how you were so honest. Keep up the great work darling ????

Hi Izzy, thanks for the comment. I love that you are doing your own research into this product. Yes MONQ is nicotine free, so no worries there. I’m sorry about your break-up. Take good care of yourself. xoxo

Very well-written! Thought out research, relatable and best of all, written honestly. I’m glad the Zen works for you! My Happy Monq just arrived and I’m sure I’ll be doing a review myself on Mindlesspeace.wordpress.com. I’d love to use your post in a link if you don’t mind. Great job!

Hi Genevieve Rose, I love your name – just gorgeous. Thank you so much. I am glad you like the Happy MONQ. It is one of my sister’s favorites – the last time I ordered one for myself she swiped it from me.. 🙂 I checked out your blog, it looks great. I am into fitness and strength training as well. Yes of course you may share a link to my post and thanks so much for asking.

Well now I have learned more about this therapy than I’ve ever know, by spending a few minutes reading your post. Thanks for all of the research. We are now benefiting from it as well. I was certain I owned the “last person on earth” label! I figured it was due to being a male 😉 Might be something to look into.

I remember about 10 years ago I had to visit my company’s HR department because an argument was escalating between myself and one of my people. The HR lady, a self admitted hippie, (no not the ones we have today but an actual hippie from back in the day of hippies) pulls out this spray bottle and shoots this weird stuff into the air and both of our faces! I immediately felt that little electric-like shock in my brain that usually leads to dizziness and a panic attack. (I think she shot a bigger dose than what she’d planned). In any event I went into panic mode and avoided anything to do with aroma therapy. Maybe I’ll rethink this.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Wes

Wes I know that exact shock feeling you are talking about! When I worked at my office job, I was on the phone during a storm and I felt that little zap and then BOOM…massive panic attack. And for the longest time, I swear I thought I had been electrocuted from the storm and I wouldn’t go near a phone when it was raining. It took me years before I was able to figure out that the zap was what I think was a super fast adrenaline surge. I was so over sensitized at the time this happened that it all makes perfect sense to me now. Back then if some lady had sprayed something in my face, the same thing probably would have happened to me too!

Interesting. I’m not sure I’d buy this product but I am very interested to learn more about essential oils. Now that you have learned about them, you can pass your ‘last person on earth’ sign over to me. 😉

They are actually pretty cool I think! I’m a little mad at myself that I have had anxiety for 20 years and never tried them before. Its like this whole other “world” that I have missed out on all this time! 🙂

I'd love to hear from you.......
